Bomey, project development manager in Cambodia

Between fund-raising and extreme sports, Bomey is driven by the same energy: to go further and further. At the age of 32, this cycling enthusiast puts her dynamism at the service of a cause close to her heart: the future of children. She has been in charge of project development in Cambodia with Planète Enfants & Développement for the past two years, helping to turn ideas into concrete action.

Why early childhood?

Children can't defend themselves. I want to be one of those who speaks up for them and reduces inequalities from an early age. Becoming an aunt has also shown me how essential a safe and stimulating environment is for their development, not just academically, but also emotionally and socially.

What do you love most about your work?

I love analyzing community challenges and turning them into concrete projects. It's a bit like a jigsaw puzzle: each piece has to align so that the project truly reflects the needs. And I love working with a creative, motivated team that makes every day enjoyable.

A proud moment?

When a project I've worked on is accepted, I know it's really going to help children and families, and contribute to the organization's sustainability. It's very gratifying to see the concrete impact of our work, even from behind the scenes.

How do you recharge outside work?

I'm passionate about cycling and extreme sports. These activities teach me perseverance and courage. And they remind me that, sometimes, a challenge that seems scary isn't so complicated... like sending an email to a landlord after bungee jumping!
