Why donate in crypto

to Planète Enfants & Développement?

> An efficient donation path to beneficiaries

Before deciding to collect donations in cryptocurrency, the Planète Enfants & Développement team did an in-depth analysis in 2025.

By early 2026, we will be able to’optimize the benefits of your crypto donation in terms of cost reduction, transparency, security and simplicity :

  • We collect donations in cryptocurrency, which are quickly converted into USDC (a stable coin - stable digital currency - to avoid volatility), transformed and sent directly in dollars to our local bank accounts (e.g. Cambodia). This flow avoids currency conversion fees between euro and dollar.
  • We rapidly decentralize a portion of cryptocurrency donations - converted into USDC - right up to the last mile: the USDC is converted into dollars just before it is handed over to the project beneficiaries (tested with the Coala Pay service provider). This flow is fast, with fewer intermediaries, and followed in total transparency by the donor.

> A high-impact donation

With your crypto donation, you fight against child exploitation in Cambodia, supporting victims and families in great distress.

If you would like to direct your donation to another country or project, please contact Mylène Massé, Planète Enfants & Développement's Philanthropy Manager.

> You support the financial independence of a human-scale association

For over 40 years, Planète Enfants & Développement has been working to protect, educate and integrate the most vulnerable children in Asia, Africa and France.
A human-scale organization, the association works with local partners to bring about in-depth, lasting change.
The sudden and significant drop in public funding is penalizing our commitments to our partners, families and the children we support. Your crypto-donations allow us to maintain and grow our actions.

FAQ, we answer your questions

around cryptocurrencies

How to verify the origin of donations made in cryptocurrencies?

With the integration of KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYT (Know Your Transaction) systems, the Lyzi payment infrastructure we work with enables us to carry out checks. Lyzi ensures that donors comply with anti-corruption legislation. It also aims to prevent identity theft, tax fraud, money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The KYC process is launched for all donations over €1,000 per Wallet (personal wallet) and for all donations over €10,000 per exchange platform.
Then, thanks to the blockchain, financial flows are publicly traced, with the pseudonymous address of the sending wallet, the pseudonymous address of the receiving wallet, the amount sent, the date and time, and a unique transaction identifier.

Isn't there a risk of losing funds if cryptocurrency prices fluctuate?

Absolutely not, because Planète Enfants & Développement has chosen to immediately convert donations received in crypto-currencies into stable coins (stable digital currency) - and USDC in particular. In this way, we quickly stabilize the value of funds received.

Are donations received in crypto-currencies by Planète Enfants & Développement a source of speculation?

Planète Enfants & Développement immediately converts donations received in crypto-currency into stable coins. Converted into dollars or euros, these funds will be used rapidly to finance the association's projects and activities, without any speculative intent.

Is there a regulatory framework around cryptocurrencies?

The MiCA regulation aims to create a harmonized framework for crypto-assets throughout the European Union.
In addition, obtaining VASP / PSAN status requires service providers to carry out KYC (identity verification), monitor transactions, report suspicious activities and implement compliance controls. These obligations are linked to the fight against money laundering.

Does the development of cryptocurrencies have an environmental impact?

The environmental impact varies according to the type of blokchain and the validation mechanisms: the system that enables a blockchain to verify and validate transactions and secure the network.
Mining ensures the verification, securing and creation of cryptocurrencies in PoW blockchains.
Many miners today are seeking to reduce this impact by relying on green energy sources, using surplus energy sources («mining [Bitcoin] absorbs these electrical surpluses, makes the infrastructure profitable and lowers the price of electricity for the end consumer» according to Alexandre Stachtchenko), opting for carbon offsetting.

Can donations be made anonymously?
