Following the respective General Meetings of Chemins d'Enfances and Planète Enfants & Développement on June 26, 2024, we are delighted to announce the merger of our two associations.
The Chemins d'Enfances association has decided to transfer its activities to a larger association in order to ensure their continuity and development for the benefit of disadvantaged children in France. Thus, as of July 1, 2024, Planète Enfants & Développement will absorb Chemins d'Enfances, with retroactive effect for the year 2024.
This choice marks an important step in our shared commitment to the development and well-being of children.
For 16 years, Chemins d'Enfances has been working for the well-being of the most disadvantaged children, through fun and educational activities. After 7 years of action in Asia, and faced with the growing needs of children in France, particularly those living in precarious housing, Chemins d'Enfances has refocused on France.
Today, thanks to its triple expertise in play, childhood and precarious living conditions, the association has established a number of partnerships enabling 6,000 children to benefit from edutainment workshops in precarious housing - notably social housing - in Ile de France and Gironde. At the same time, it has set up a project to raise children's awareness of living together, children's rights and interculturality, in schools and extracurricular establishments. It has also built up a training catalog for social workers, volunteers and civic service volunteers, to equip them with the tools of playful activity as a vector of resilience.
"Play is an exceptional tool for children to progress at their own pace. I met Planète Enfants & Développement when we were developing free play in schools in Cambodia, some ten years ago. The idea of entrusting our projects to Planète Enfants & Développement came very naturally to me: we share the same values, the same way of working, the same vision that children develop on the basis of their own abilities. I'm delighted to be joining Planète Enfants & Développement's Board of Directors, as we continue our adventure together. Martine Roussel Adam, Founding President of Chemins d'Enfances.
Véronique Jenn-Treyer, Director of Planète Enfants & Développement, underlines the strategic alignment of this merger with the organization's objectives: " For several years now, Planète Enfants & Développement has been looking to expand its activities with a program in France. This merger is the perfect response to this ambition. The play-based approach, the values of proximity and respect for children's dignity, and the methods employed by Chemins d'Enfances echo our approach in the field. The entire Planète Enfants & Développement team is delighted to welcome the Chemins d'Enfances team..
The Chemins d'Enfances program in France thus complements the projects already developed by Planète Enfants & Développement as part of its Petite Enfance program in Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal, Burkina Faso and Togo.
