At the beginning of September, Planète Enfants & Développement conducted a training session for tourism professionals on the theme of child protection, in Da Nang.
"Tourism is notIt is not the cause of the exploitation of vulnerable children, but it can be part of it. Through role-playing and discussions, participants reflect on this issue. Each of the sessions we organize lasts between 2h30 and 3h. We raise awareness on the impact of tourism on children and vulnerable communities as well as on the legal framework for child protection in Vietnam and at the international level. In order to evaluate the level of knowledge on child protection of each participant, the association makes them take a test before and after the training.
Tour guides and teams from EXO Travel, Asian Trails and Khiri Travel have already participated in these trainings. The luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent will participate in the next session.
Planète Enfants & Développement has joined the "ChildSafe Movement", created by the NGO Friends International in June 2019. This movement aims to raise awareness of the risks that threaten children in tourist areas and to promote a more responsible tourism in Vietnam.
