In early May, our team in Burkina Faso handed out materials to 25 young women for the launch of their micro-enterprises in Ouahigouya, in the north of the country.
These women want to set up small businesses in food, local crafts, clothing sales or hairdressing. Selected according to their socio-professional situation and business ideas, we gave them 3 days' training in running a micro-business, before helping them to develop their personal project.
This distribution of equipment (from tables and kitchen utensils to a straw shed and drinking troughs) will be followed by a grant to build up working capital.
This group is one of 50 highly vulnerable internally displaced women to whom we provided emergency financial assistance between September and January to meet their families' basic needs.
