Cambodia : all our projects

CAMBODIA

Cambodia has a population of nearly 17 million and a continuous rural exodus since the 1990s to its capital Phnom Penh.

The great inequalities that were already lurking behind the country's economic growth have only become more pronounced in recent months with the Covid-19. According to national figures, 17.8% of Cambodians live below the poverty line, i.e. on less than 2.3 USD/day in the city.

Domestic violence remains a widespread phenomenon in Cambodia. On the educational front, the challenges are also numerous. 32% of children under 5 are too small for their age, 25% of children in grade 3 (equivalent to CE2) can't read... And despite its determination to develop pre-schooling, the State lacks the means. Only 34% of children attend nursery school.
