Adjaratou had to leave school in CE1. But at the age of 24, she picked herself up and decided to go back to training. With a lot of courage and hard work, she obtained her nursery assistant certificate in 2019 with Planète Enfants & Développement in Burkina Faso. She's very proud of her diploma.
Shortly after completing her training, she found a job in a crèche. When the latter closed its doors, Adjaratou became interested in the experiences of other childminders in her class who had set up their own "mini-crèche" (known in Burkina Faso as a SEEJE - Service d'Eveil et d'Education de Jeunes Enfants). And so, in May 2023, she took the plunge.
After a few months of preparation and regular support from our coaches Inès and RaïchaToday, she welcomes 6 children in a small house she rents in her neighborhood. Her SEEJE, open from 7 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., is simple but very clean. The children have plenty of space and seem to flourish. There's a great deal of tenderness and listening between her and the children. She likes to say that the children don't want to leave when their parents come to pick them up!
Thanks to the childcare fees paid by families, the mini-crèche's budget is balanced and it generates income. This mother of 3, separated from her husband, is very happy to have regained her autonomy, in a professional environment where she feels at ease.
