"It's the big departure for my mission in Nepal! For a few weeks, I will be with the Planète Enfants & Développement team in Nepal.
Working on Early Childhood Development projects, I am going to Kathmandu for a short mission of about one month to provide technical support to the teams on the ground. I will be working on the "Better Future for Mothers and Children" project. This is a new project that we are developing in Kathmandu and in the villages of the Dhading province.
One of the main objectives of this program is to create and set up a kindergarten in Kathmandu for the 2-5 year old children of exploited women who work in the entertainment industry. Very often, they have no choice but to leave their children alone, unsupervised and unprotected while they are with their clients; or they bring them to their workplaces. This kindergarten aims to help these underprivileged children by providing them with a protective and stimulating environment to ensure their development and growth, away from this violence.
In Dhading, the program aims to improve social services by building the capacity of public early childhood development centers."
