Doriane, a conquered ambassador!

Doriane Filior is 33 years old and works in Luxembourg as a buyer of services. Involved with Planète Enfants & Développement as a volunteer since June 2015, she testifies about this experience.

How did you discover Planète Enfants & Développement?
On the internet. I was looking to volunteer to help poorly treated and disadvantaged children in developing countries. I then contacted Sophie Ganeau who manages the volunteer team and started translation missions in June 2015.

Can you tell us about your recent stay in Nepal?
Yes. I went in November 2016 for two weeks. I discovered Nepal and what Planète Enfants & Développement does. It was really great. When we arrived, we went straight to the office and met the whole field team. I discovered the Shanti sewing workshop and the women who work there. I visited the kindergarten of hope with the children. Everything I had read in the activity report, I found on site. I was able to see concretely what it gives. The conclusion of this trip is that there is always a need for more: more subsidies, more projects!

What did you find at Planète Enfants & Développement?
Planète Enfants & Développement brings me an opening on the world. I did not have time yet to be interested in the other countries in which Planète Enfants & Développement intervenes. But I'm planning to do so! My experience as a volunteer has allowed me to meet great people who do an extraordinary job. It makes me want to get involved more and more.

Why would you recommend others to get involved in this association?
This is an association that - and I know this for a fact - is careful with all costs. The operating budget is limited. It's a fairly small association so it's possible to get very involved. The people are accessible and they are really great. It's an association where you feel good![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
