In February, we are starting the construction of outdoor playgrounds in the Boassa neighborhood of Ougadougou, to offer the youngest children free and safe play areas where they can grow up having fun.
In a country where nurseries are still underdeveloped, where only 4 out of 100 children go to kindergarten, where children have few toys, It is important to create recreational, educational and social play areas, adapted to the age of the children and safe, which will contribute to their development.
We are planning 3 playgrounds The first is for 2-3 year olds, the second for 3-6 year olds and the third for 6-8 year olds. Their layout is designed to integrate harmoniously into the local environment and the habits of the inhabitants.
On a 346 m2 plot of land located next to a schoolthe children will enjoy a slideof a sandboxof swings, of mobile animalsof hopscotch and climbing walls.
This project is part of a responsible and sustainable approach since we intend to make these games from recycled and local materials (tires, earth, wood ...), but also to work with craftsmen and artists on site.
Eventually, the playgrounds will be maintained by a local structure.
