From October 2018Planète Enfants & Développement is working on the creation of theNursery assistant in collaboration with the Burkinabe government and two local associations in the province of Yatenga: theAGB (Association des Gardes Bébés), which runs a crèche for the children of Ouahigouya's girl-mothers and theAFEDEB (Association Féminine Pour le Développement du Burkina Faso), which promotes the maternal assistant sector in the province.

This project responds to a real need of women. When they work, they either take their children with them and cannot fully invest in them, or they entrust them to people who are not qualified to do so. This has a great impact on thefulfillment and theawakening of toddlersThese children suffer from a lack of stimulation and developmental delays.

This project has 3 objectives:

To offer a professional training as a Maternal Assistant to 150 women, who will be able to take care of children at home on their own or be employed in a childcare facility,

To give the opportunity to work to mothers who had no one to take care of their child(ren),

To entrust children under 3 years of age to early childhood professionals, in a secure environment, conducive to their development and growth.
