After several weeks of preparation, our activities in Togo got off to a flying start with the launch of training for 19 women and men as maternal assistants in Lomé.
Tania, Eliane and Johnson take the floor to explain their expectations and ambitions at the end of this training course.
Interested in its methodology, the Togolese government drew on Planète Enfants & Développement's expertise and experience in early childhood to launch this training program, run in collaboration with the association by the BNCE-Togo and theNFPPI under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Action, Solidarity and the Promotion of Women.
After the first 6 days of theoretical training, trainees follow a 2-week internship, 6 more days of theoretical training and a 3-month work placement.
For some, it's a professional retraining, for others it's capacity building; but for all, it's an ambitious project to ensure the best possible care for young children in Togo.
