On October 16, Planète Enfants & Développement and its local partner HACRP* brought together social workers from the Centre de Travail Social pour l'Enfance (CTSE) and medical staff from several Hô Chi Minh City hospitals. The aim: to share knowledge and practices, and learn to cooperate to better support children and families facing violence.
A much-appreciated time of exchange
Throughout the day, the twenty or so participants had the opportunity to revisit :
- Laws and texts protecting children,
- Best practices for better cooperation between hospitals and social services,
- The essential stages of family support,
- And methods for quickly assessing a child's physical and psychological needs.
The presentations, led by HACRP and Planète Enfants & Développement, provided answers to a number of practical questions raised in the field.
Even better prepared teams
This training strengthens the confidence and skills of professionals working alongside children who are victims of violence, and helps to provide more responsive and comprehensive support.
In this way, hospital staff and social workers work together, within a framework that respects confidentiality and the dignity of individuals, to coordinate :
- Psychological support,
- A first legal orientation,
- Secure hosting if required.
This training day is part of a collaborative effort with local institutions in Ho Chi Minh City to set up multidisciplinary reception centers in hospitals to identify and help child victims of violence.
