In June 2024, Enfants du Mékong inaugurated a crèche for vulnerable families at its activity center in Phnom Penh. The NGO had asked Planète Enfants & Développement to provide expertise in the deployment of crèches and training for the future management team. In May 2024, we organized an intensive three-week training course for a group of childcare assistants, to ensure quality care and support for the children.
On August 27, our team in Cambodia visited this new crèche, a project in which Enfants du Mékong wanted to involve Planète Enfants & Développement to benefit from our expertise. Indeed, we brought our know-how in the creation and management of crèches, as well as our support for the training of future supervisors. This project once again illustrates our ability to collaborate with other organizations with the shared aim of promoting early childhood development and contributing to the well-being of Cambodia's most vulnerable families.
Planète Enfants & Développement and Enfants du Mékong join forces to support early childhood in Cambodia
During the visit, our team was invited to give its observations and recommendations for fitting out the space, equipping the crèche and coaching the childcare assistants.
Planète Enfants & Développement is delighted to be associated with this project and to be able to share its experience. We will continue to accompany and coach the staff to create a high-quality childcare model, essential for the development of Cambodia's toddlers.
The importance of this type of crèche lies in its ability to offer children a safe and stimulating environment, conducive to their personal development and future success. It's a model that can be replicated in other parts of Cambodia to strengthen the country's early childhood sector.
