"I was worried about what I was going to have to say and do on that day. Would I be attending a conference to do this or that?" wondered Binod. Invited by our partner Chhori, Binod and 90 other participants met in Kathmandu for Women's Rights Day on March 8.
The objective: to have husbands, spouses, brothers, friends of the women we accompany in the Pariwartan social center participate in a time of exchange to raise awareness about violence against women.
But no conference during this day. Each woman-man duo was able to share moments of games, sports and fun activities. The women also wanted to perform a short play to show the men around them how they can support them on a daily basis.
"It was the first time in my life that I played with my husband. It was a real pleasure to share this moment of complicity", explains Amrita.
An event that allowed everyone to express themselves, far from the difficulties of everyday life.
