At the end of 2022, the government of Burkina Faso validated the tools we helped develop to monitor the progress of kindergarten pupils. The country has taken a new step forward by training teaching teams in the use of these tools: a pedagogical follow-up notebook and nine quarterly report cards.

Last October, in collaboration with the Burkina Faso Ministry of Education, Planète Enfants & Développement launched a training program for 160 educators from the 24 schools in the Kadiogo province that the association supports.

Over the course of 4 days, primary school teachers learned about learning objectives, progress indicators, links with school curricula and the various stages involved in monitoring children's progress.

In addition to visits from the inspectorate, our project manager Massimbo Adama will continue to support the educational teams over the coming months.

This training is a breath of fresh air in the drive to expand, democratize and strengthen skills for access to and quality of preschool in Burkina Faso. "Alexandre Yameogo, the Provincial Director of Education for Kadiogo, who took part in the training course, testifies.

Pupil monitoring is now to apply to all 245 public schools and 1,348 private schools in the country, with the aim of guaranteeing better support for children's learning.
