Like Rakieta or Balguissa, 150 women between the ages of 18 and 35 attended the 12-day training offered by Planète Enfants & Développement in December in Ouahigouya, northern Burkina Faso.
They now follow a 3-month training course, in a crèche or nursery, which will allow them to validate a first diploma of CQB level (Basic Qualification Certificate) to become a childminder.
They will then be supported in finding a job or setting up their own mini-crèche.
For half of these women who were already working with children, it is an opportunity to become professional, for the other half, who are unemployed, to start a new professional life.
A second wave of training for another 150 women is planned for late 2020 in Ouagadougou.
