My name is Vy Tu Phuong and I am Vietnamese. I am an Assistant Project Manager for PE&D Vietnam since 2019. I have a Master's degree in International Development that I obtained in Brussels. In Belgium, I was a volunteer in an association that welcomes isolated migrant women in shelters. It is by creating links with these women that I developed a real interest for the associative environment.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Why did you join Plan\u00e8te Enfants & D\u00e9veloppement?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
I share PE&D's ambition to build a better world, not only for the most disadvantaged children, but also for families and victims of gender-based violence. I wanted to get involved in a useful cause: with Plan\u00e8te Enfants & D\u00e9veloppement, I fight against the problems that plague our society. In Vietnam, inequalities between women and men are important. Thus, we act from the youngest age to change mentalities. We work a lot with students.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Why is the Hy Vong project important?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
It is the first project to provide an integrated response, both in terms of prevention and protection, to the problems of gender-based violence in Vietnam. Hy Vong is recognized for organizing coordinated responses in the areas of police, health care, and legal assistance for victims, while addressing the root of the problem: harmful gender norms and stereotypes that lead to unequal power relations.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Why do you like working with students?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The students are always very lively and motivated. They allow me to stay connected to their generation but also to find inspiration for the construction of projects. The young people who receive our training are very mobilized to move the lines. Recently, they have created a Facebook page on the project which is very well followed. Interacting with them is a real source of happiness in my work and I wouldn't change that for anything.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
