150 new young women have just been selected in Burkina Faso to be trained as maternal assistants. The first training sessions began in early February in Ouagadougou.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Plan\u00e8te Enfants & D\u00e9veloppement and its partners, Entrepreneurs du Monde and Yikri, have recruited 120 young women<\/strong> from January 19 to 21 in 3 districts of Ouagadougou and 3 rural communes close to the capital, to follow our training of maternal assistants. Aged between 18 and 35, the selected candidates were chosen according to their motivation but also their vulnerability: school failure, unemployment, single-parent family, displaced for security reasons...<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
This state-recognized training program is a chance for children to be cared for and awakened in a stimulating and secure environment. It is also a chance for women, who are heavily affected by unemployment, to have a recognized job and a stable salary. We want to train them and help them to enter the job market or to develop their own mini-cr\u00e8che.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Another 30 young women already working in day care centers will also be trained to improve child care.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
This new wave of training, which began in early February in groups of 30, is part of our project to support women's entrepreneurship in Burkina Faso, in partnership with the Ministries of Women and Youth, local associations, and local governments. Since its launch in 2018, we have already trained 159 women and 117 have graduated.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
This new mode of care could meet the needs of 12,000 women in the areas where we operate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Focus on the training and its opportunities<\/strong>
The training takes place over 12 days. It is divided into 10 days of technical courses and 2 days of courses on entrepreneurship.
The 11 technical modules cover, for example, notions of childcare, the nutrition of young children, games and socio-educational activities, equipment and materials for early learning, the protection and rights of the child...
The women then follow a 3-month practical training course, before taking their exams to obtain their diploma.
We then accompany these women for one year, either in their job search or in their home-based mini-cr\u00e8che project for which they have access to micro-credit thanks to our partner Yikri.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
