The opening of schools has been postponed to June 2. But in a country where 40% of the inhabitants live below the poverty line, daily survival takes precedence and by necessity, life is slowly resuming its course against a backdrop of strong political tensions. An overview of our activities in Burkina Faso.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ef7097;\"><b>Raising awareness among the most vulnerable populations<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Burkina Faso, our team focused on <strong>awareness<\/strong>. We trained and informed families in the commune of Biy\u00e9n\u00e9, in the central west of the country, on the Ministry of Health's recommendations and the evolution of the pandemic. Adama, a Plan\u00e8te Enfants &amp; D\u00e9veloppement facilitator, also<strong> Encouraged families to continue to visit the health center<\/strong> in case of illness and to ensure the <strong>childhood immunization<\/strong> or the <strong>pregnancy follow-up<\/strong>. Through meetings, limited to 15 people, in the heart of the villages and door to door, <span style=\"color: #4893d7;\"><strong>4000 inhabitants<\/strong><\/span> were able to be sensitized to Covid-19, and in particular the village chiefs who could then inform all the inhabitants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ef7097;\"><b>Distribution of financial assistance to newly trained childcare providers<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the North of Burkina Faso, in the communes of Ouahigouya, Oula and Tangaye, the <strong><span style=\"color: #4893d7;\">150 women<\/span><\/strong> recently trained as childminders suddenly found themselves without work, as the cr\u00e8ches were closed due to the lockdown. To enable these women and their families to support themselves despite the crisis, we have set up a <strong>money transfer system<\/strong>. From May to July 2020, these 150 women will receive <strong><span style=\"color: #4893d7;\">10 000 FCFA (15\u20ac) per month for 3 months<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&gt;&gt; In sub-Saharan Africa, access to water is a real challenge. <strong>Only 48% of schools have access to drinking water in Burkina Faso<\/strong>. With the scheduled reopening of schools, the<strong> risks of propagation<\/strong> of the virus are increasing. That's why we would like to <strong>strengthen handwashing facilities in preschools<\/strong> (= Centres d'Eveil et d'Education Pr\u00e9scolaire), by putting at their disposal our <strong>nudge method<\/strong> \"<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/planete-eed.org\/en\/projects\/memoire-delephants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Memory of Elephants<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\".\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Covid-19 pandemic has no borders.
