During these trainings, they learned how to listen, counsel and refer women to health, economic or administrative services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, a SCDI social worker was trained and coached weekly by a PE&amp;D social worker to take over from the volunteers in handling the most complex cases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since then, 22 women survivors, victims or at risk of violence have been taken in charge. Six of them are receiving in-depth psycho-social support and will benefit from an emergency support fund for accommodation, professional training, schooling for their children, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A study we conducted in these neighborhoods in late 2017 found that 62 % of residents believe that women had to tolerate the violence experienced to preserve their homes. <strong>A series of workshops started this summer to sensitize the inhabitants, but also the local authorities on the subject of domestic violence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>November 2019<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe de Plan\u00e8te Enfants &amp; D\u00e9veloppement poursuit son travail de lutte contre les violences envers les femmes \u00e0 H\u00f4 Chi Minh Ville. &nbsp; Pendant l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 2018, nous avons form\u00e9, avec notre partenaire local SCDI, 15 volontaires issus de la communaut\u00e9 des 3 districts de la ville cibl\u00e9s par notre projet pilote.
