Burkina Faso: a week of practical training for early childhood professionals

"Is corporal punishment acceptable for educating a child? This was one of the topics discussed by the 14 participants in our Early Childhood training at the end of June 2021 in Ouagadougou.

At the heart of these 5 days of training for our local partner associations and our project managers: the issues of protecting young children and the role of play in each stage of their development.

"We wanted to work with the participants on very practical facilitation techniques and role plays that they can use in the field during parenting sessions or play activities with children.

For example, we spent an afternoon experimenting with the construction of games with available recycled materials," explains Nolwenn Deschard and Dah Gilbert, our Early Childhood experts.

Each participant left with a booklet that lists dozens of easy-to-develop game ideas and, we hope, new ideas and methods of animation to convince as many people as possible of the importance of caring for and awakening the little ones.
