From the 28th July to the 13th August, PE&D trained 14 trainers and 255 public agents on archiving personal record documents in 85 municipalities in the Boucle du Mouhoun region and in the Centre-West part of Burkina Faso. A training guide and a summary booklet, created with the DGMEC (Direction Générale de la Modernisation de l’Etat Civil) and the DGA (Direction Générale des Archives), was given to them at the end of the training.
“The agents that came really appreciated being listened to and taken into consideration during this training. In the complicated security context that the country is going through, it is very important to respect the citizens’ identity: recording every Burkinabé, without discrimination and disposing of personal records throughout one’s lifetime is essential”, explains Estelle Dahani, the PE&D Burkina Faso Director.
