Following the General Assembly of the 22nd of June 2019, Emmanuelle Bourgueil was elected as President of the Board of Directors of Planète Enfants & Développement. She responds to our questions, an occasion to better know her!
1- Why and since when have you been involved with Planète Enfants & Développement?
During a trip to Nepal with my family twelve years ago, to visit a close friend, Stéphanie Selle, today co-director of the association and back then head of mission in the country, I was touched by her commitment and by the immensity of the task at hand to protect the most vulnerable children and help them to grow up in a better world. By returning, I decided to also engage myself by joining the board of directors and taking over different positions, vice treasury, treasury, vice president for eleven years.
2- How do you envision your new role as President?
After a career in a large international group, I am currently developing a business creation project in the circular economy, driven by the desire to put my experience into the service of causes that go towards sustainable development and protection of vulnerable people. My appointment as president is part of the approach with the goal to place myself as a resource to help permanent members to develop actions for full achievement of the association’s mission.
3- What can we wish for you for these three years of mandate?
Pursue momentum, energy instilled by the formidable permanent teams and volunteers, that we will continue together to be driven by this optimistic state of mind, lively and compassionate to the service of impact in the field for the radiation of the values of the association.
